Quick and simple vegan smoothie with berries
Looking for a quick and easy way to beat the heat on a warm summer day? Look no further than this fantastic vegan smoothie with berries that are bound to be your ultimate summer companion.
Why Blackebberies and Blueberries?
Let’s talk about these tiny flavor-packed powerhouses called berries. Not only are they fantastic when it comes to health, but they’re also like nature’s candy – juicy, fruity and so good!. These little wonders are bursting with vitamin C, which gives your immune system a high-five and helps your body absorb iron like a champ. Plus, they’re packed with good stuff like potassium, calcium, zinc,. And as an extra bonus, they’re loaded with fiber and might just lend a hand in your weight loss journey.
Creamy and delicious
But here’s where the magic happens – a touch of cauliflower, finely chopped, adds both nutrition and texture, creating a creamy consistency that’ll have you wondering why you haven’t tried this combo before. Don’t let the cauliflower fool you; it’s the secret ingredient that transforms this smoothie into a satisfying and wholesome treat.
After the workout best friend
After any gym or home session, your body craves fuel and nourishment, and that’s where this vegan smoothie with berries comes in. Berries take the spotlight as nutritional powerhouses. These vibrant fruits are bursting with vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C which bolsters your immune system and aids in recovery. Not to mention, the natural sugars found in blueberries provide a quick energy boost.
Let’s not forget the cauliflower here! It’s a source of essential nutrients that contribute to muscle repair and growth. Plus, the dietary fiber in cauliflower supports digestion and overall gut health, ensuring your body is working at it best.
When I’ve got some cauliflower leftovers or extra fresh blueberries hanging around, my freezer becomes a lifesaver. I stash them away for those moments when I’m craving a speedy smoothie just like this one. Let me tell you – frozen fruit is like a secret ingredient that can transform this vegan smoothie into a velvety, slushy dream!
If you’re in the mood for a thicker twist on your smoothie consider tossing in some oats, and I love to throw in extra seeds like hemp or chia. However thanks to the creamy yogurt and cauliflower I think that is recipe has the perfect creaminess as is!
The trick: If you use frozen blueberries and cauliflower you can create a delicious thick, smoothie bowl 😁 YUMMY!
Instructions:
Putting together this delicious drink is a breeze! Just gather up your ingredients and toss them into your trusty blender. Give it a blitz until everything’s nicely mixed. Once it’s done, pour it into a tall glass and enjoy this delightful blend – it’s as simple and tasty as that!
Ingredients needed for this recipe:
berries– I used blackberries and blueberries. I picked those this summer so I had them frozen. Use any berries you have. I am using purple color berries in this recipe. Purple is often a sign of nutrients called anthocyanins. Anthocyanins possess antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anti-obesity effects.
cauliflower– adds to the creaminess of this smoothie and nutritional value of course. I am using it mainly for its vitamins B and C. However it also contains high concentrations of carotenoids (antioxidants).
vegan yogurt – adds an extra boost of protein and creamy richness.
flax seeds – I add them to everything I eat for improved hormone metabolism.
vegan protein – you can use any protein you have on hand or omit it. I am obviously boosting a protein content here.
ginger – is loaded with antioxidants! Add the zing to this smoothie
turmeric – the active component of turmeric – Curcumin – is a natural antioxidant that has anti-inflammatory benefits.
lemon juice – Lemons contain high amounts of citric acid- an ingredient that is particularly good at increasing bowel movements. It helps eliminate waste quickly- so nothing nasty has the chance to build up. YOU ARE WELCOME 😁
acai – Like other berries, acai berries contain antioxidants and fiber.
camu – contains powerful antioxidants, including vitamin C and flavonoids (beneficial anti-inflammatory properties).
