Ingredients

  • 2 cups black beans
  • 1 medium onion
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup vegan cheese
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 2 tsp chipotle paste
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 flax eggs ( 2 tbls ground flax + 6 tbls water)
  • 1 tbls coconut aminos
  • 1 tbls ketchup
  • 2 tbls tomato paste
  • 1 tbls miso paste
  • ½ cup coriander

Instructions

  • Heat a non-stick frying pan and add onion.
  • Cook it till translucent.
  • Add black bean to food processor and pulse few times just to break them down just a tiny bit.
  • Add the rest of the ingredient and blitz till combined. Do not overprocess the mix it as it will be just a big mush - which we dont want.
  • Wet your nads slightly and for patties. I get 6 large or 8 avarage size patties out of this recipe.
  • You can add oil to the frying pan and fry the black bean burgers for the crispy outside but you can also bake those.
  • If you are baking them: Preheat the oven to 180° and bake them for around 20 min tull slighty brown. You don't want to over bake them as they will be very dry.
